This item meets the performance specification ASTM F1506-18 which is the Standard Performance Specification for Flame Resistant and Electric Arc Rated Protective Clothing Worn by Workers Exposed to Flames and Arcs. This specification is called out in OSHA 1910.269, NFPA 70E and CSA Z462.

This garment is constructed from arc and flame resistant fabric and components in a facility with audited quality controls. It will resist ignition and not continue to burn when the ignition source is removed. This garment is not intended for fire fighting activities and provides no protection from chemical exposure. This garment will maintain its flame resistant properties for the life of the garment provided wash and care instructions are followed.
According to NFPA 70E other apparel that does not "meet the requirements regarding melting, or made from materials that do not self-extinguish are not allowed to be worn. So don't use the plastic orange or lime polyester neck shades you see road workers in. If there were an arc flash or flash fire, you would look like a burning candle wearing a hard hat!
