BENCHMARK FR WAREHOUSE FIRE

benchmark fr fire damage

During the early morning hours of Monday, September 18, 2017, a fire significantly damaged the warehouse and production facilities of Benchmark FR in Santa Ana, California. While the loss of our warehouse is difficult, we are grateful that no one was injured.

The fire started in the building next to us that specialized in woodworking. While the cause of the fire is still being investigated, we do know the fire did not start in the Benchmark FR facility. The Orange County Fire Department estimated that the fire reached temperatures of 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Once the fire consumed the initial building, it moved over to our space. The fire was so hot that it fused electrical wires, melted equipment and sewing machines and destroyed support structures. If there is a silver lining to the story, our FR products did their job and slowed the fire down enough to where no additional buildings were damaged.

While this is a setback, we will continue pushing forward. We have already starting to receive fabric and items are in production. If you have placed an order with us, we will be contacting you shortly with the update status. We apologize for the inconvenience, we have already started the process of moving forward. We are in the process of acquiring a temporary location and plan to move in the coming weeks. We are still standing and will continue to make innovative FR products people want to wear. Thank you to everyone for their overwhelming support.
