CAT 2 American Shemagh FR Neck Gaiter
Our original American Shemagh (pronounced shəmäg') arc and flame resistant neck gaiter was made as a tribute to the shemaghs worn by US Special Forces in Afghanistan. Whether you call it a keffiyeh, hattah, ghutrah or headscarf, the cloth was made from lightweight and breathable material to protect people in arid regions from sandstorms, the sun and dust. We have now made a CAT 2 version of one of our most popular flame resistant face masks.
We designed the American Shemagh FR face muffler to protect against arc flash and flash fire in addition to the elements. The breathable material makes it comfortable to wear when it gets hot and helps take the chill off when temperatures drop.
Our new CAT 2 rated American Shemagh FR face mask has an Arc Rating of (ATPV) = 8.0 cal/cm2. In addition, this FR Cloth Face Covering (FRCFC) meets the requirements of NFPA 2112-2018.
The American Shemagh is made with our 6.2 oz., FR cotton jersey material, which is lightweight and comfortable to wear. It is safe to wear against your skin and can be washed with your regular laundry (no bleach or fabric softener). We make it at our manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, California and it comes with a lifetime repair/replacement warranty. As long as the item is not lost, we will repair or replace it for free, no questions asked.
